Larry Goldbold Arrested for DUI after Striking Tow Truck Driver Obinna Ugorji in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 6, 2021) – Obinna Ugorji died in a DUI accident late Saturday evening near South Land Park in Sacramento.
 
The accident happened around 11:40 p.m. on northbound 5 Freeway at Seamas Avenue.
 
CHP officials said the 40-year-old Sacramento man was on the freeway trying to tow a customer’s vehicle. He pulled his truck over, activated his amber lights and got out from the truck.
 
As Ugorji began to hook up the vehicle, a Chrysler Town and Country minivan struck him and his truck. As a result, the impact threw him into the roadway. Soon after, Sacramento Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
46-year-old Larry Godbold of Sacramento drove the minivan. When officers arrived, he refused to give a statement regarding the crash. However, police found that suspicious.
 
Officers suspected Godbold had been drinking and arrested him on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. After that, he was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
