Nathan Beltran Killed in Solo-Car Accident on Highway 99 near McKinley Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (March 31, 2023)— Nathan Beltran died after his car crashed into a tree on Highway 99 near McKinley Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car crash happened around 12:00 p.m. Sunday.
 
Investigators learned that Beltran was driving a Lexus northbound on Highway 99 in the far right lane at an unknown speed. However, his Lexus sustained a tread separation of the left rear tire, causing him to press on his brake. The Lexus subsequently rotated clockwise and veered off the road, crashing into a large eucalyptus tree.
 
The 22-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt, and he died from his injuries.
 
Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm the details.
 
According to police, they have been seeing this type of issue occur following rain. The steel belt of the tire will rust after a small puncture, causing the tire to violently rupture.
