Authorities Identify Driver Killed in 8 Freeway Rollover Crash in Midway District

 
MIDWAY DISTRICT, CA (March 31, 2021) – Officials have identified a 23-year-old woman who was killed last week in a rollover crash in the Midway District.
 
A medical examiner’s report says Natalie Wohlford of Chula Vista was driving east on 8 Freeway with her boyfriend in the passenger seat on March 25 just before midnight. She tried to transition to southbound 5 Freeway when she lost control of the car.
 
The car then went down an embankment, overturned and hit a cement pole, officers said.
 
As a result, Wohlford sustained multiple blunt force injuries and died at the scene.
 
The passenger was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the exact cause of the accident and factors involved.
