Car Crashes into Tree in Downey Killing Two Men

 
DOWNEY, CA (July 23, 2023) – Mynor Medina and Fabian Armas Cortes were killed in a car accident in Downey Saturday morning on July 22.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:10 a.m. in the area of Downey Avenue and Imperial Highway. According to the Downey Police Department, the two were in a vehicle that had crashed into a tree.
 
Medina, a 27-year-old resident of Fontana, and Cortes, 34, both died at the scene.
 
Crews issued a SigAlert at 5:11 a.m., temporarily closing the eastbound and westbound lanes of Imperial Highway, from Downey Avenue to Paramount Boulevard while they worked on the wreckage.
 
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
