Rider Suffers Major Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Car on Highway 20 in Yuba City

 
YUBA CITY, CA (November 12, 2021) – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 20 in Yuba City late Wednesday afternoon.
 
The crash happened around 5:55 p.m. on November 10, at the intersection with Gray Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a white sedan tried to make an abrupt turn into the AM/PM store, turning right in front of a motorcycle in the next lane.
 
The impact pushed the motorcyclist out of his lane. He attempted to slow down but hit the right side of the sedan.
 
Minutes later, a minivan also hit the motorcyclist, sending him into a tree. He became trapped between the motorcycle and the tree.
 
The sedan driver took off after the crash and remains at large.
 
Responding paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
The crash is still under investigation. Anyone with further information is asked to call the Yuba Sutter CHP.
 
Give way to small vehicles like motorcycles to avoid accidents. Increase your following distance behind motorcyclists and maintain a safe speed. Also, do not leave the scene when you get involved in an accident. Pull over and call 911.
