49-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car on San Felipe Road in Hollister

 
HOLLISTER, CA (November 13, 2021) – A 49-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on San Felipe Road in Hollister early Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 4:00 a.m. on November 12, near McCloskey and Wright roads. According to the Hollister Police Department, the man was walking in the roadway when a northbound vehicle struck him.
 
Responding officers found the man lying in the roadway with serious injuries and was unresponsive. They tried to perform CPR until fire and medical personnel arrived.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, the man died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
According to the police, the driver said he did not see the victim walking in the roadway, but was one of the people who called 911.
 
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
