Police Arrest Hit-and-Run Suspect after Fatally Striking Motorcyclist on Avenue I in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (November 29, 2022) – A motorcyclist died in a hit-and-run crash on Avenue I in Lancaster early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on November 27, at 13th Street West. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station, a BMW sedan was traveling eastbound on Avenue I and made a left turn at 13th Street West into the path of a motorcyclist, who was heading westbound on Avenue I.
 
After striking the motorcyclist, the driver of the BMW fled the scene on foot. He left his car locked and deputies had to break out the car’s windows to make sure there was no one inside.
 
First responders rushed the motorcyclist to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
Police later found the suspect hiding in the bushes. They arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony hit and run, and DUI causing bodily injury.
