Rider Dies after Colliding Head-On with Pickup Truck on Applegate Road in Merced County

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (July 28, 2023) – A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on accident on Applegate Road in Merced County Thursday morning on July 27.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 8:00 a.m. near Atwater Jordan Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist veered into an oncoming lane and crashed head-on with a pickup truck.
 
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
