Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with DUI Driver on Euclid Avenue in Ridgeview-Webster Neighborhood

 
RIDGEVIEW-WEBSTER, CA (April 7, 2024) – A motorcyclist was killed in a DUI crash on Euclid Avenue in the Ridgeview-Webster neighborhood Saturday evening on April 6.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:25 p.m. at Lyon Street. According to the San Diego Police Department, the 35-year-old motorcyclist was heading south on Euclid Avenue toward Highway 94 on a 2021 Harley-Davidson.
 
At the same time, a 58-year-old man was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup north on Euclid and attempted to turn left onto Lyon Street. The driver turned into the path of the motorcyclist and the motorcyclist collided with the truck.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and rushed the motorcyclist to a hospital, where he later died.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Officers arrested the driver of the pickup truck on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drug.
 
The department’s traffic division is still investigating the fatality.
