Fatal Motorcycle Accident on 15 Freeway near Ontario Avenue in Corona

 
CORONA, CA (October 18, 2022) – A rider died in a motorcycle accident on 15 Freeway on Sunday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on October 16, at about 8:40 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a motorcyclist crashed into the rear of a gray Acura sedan while trying to exit the express lanes.
 
The impact of the collision caused the motorcycle to go down the right hand shoulder embankment near Ontario Avenue.
 
Firefighters pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Caltrans temporarily closed affected lanes to make way for clearing operations.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
