Fiery Chain-Reaction Crash on 5 Freeway in Bay Park Leaves Motorcyclist with Critical Injuries

 
BAY PARK, CA (January 4, 2023) – A motorcyclist was critically injured in a fiery chain-reaction crash on 5 Freeway in San Diego’s Bay Park early Friday morning.
 
The crash happened around 3:40 a.m. on December 30, near Sea World Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle, a car and a pickup truck were involved in the chain reaction crash.
 
While the circumstances of the crash were not immediately known, first responders found the motorcyclist unconscious on the roadway. The motorcycle was on fire a few yards away.
 
As firefighters extinguished the fire, paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to a hospital with critical injuries.

The drivers of the car and pickup truck were treated at the scene.
