Mother Killed, Ralph White III Arrested in Pursuit Hit-and-Run Crash on Parker Avenue [Hercules, CA]

Mother Dies, 6-Year-Old Twins Hurt when Stolen SUV Chased by Hercules Police Crashes into their Car on Parker Avenue

 
HERCULES, CA (March 27, 2023) – A mother was killed after a pursuit hit-and-run crash on Parker Avenue in Hercules Thursday evening on March 23.
 
According to the Hercules Police Department, they received a report of stolen 2021 Mazda SUV possibly heading toward the eastbound 80 Freeway around 7:27 p.m. The Mazda exited the freeway and turned into Parker Avenue in the unincorporated community of Rodeo.
 
As the officer caught up to the Mazda, the driver immediately began to accelerate.
 
The officer initiated a short pursuit of the SUV with siren and emergency lights activated before the SUV collided into a 2017 Nissan, which had been traveling southbound on Parker Avenue and was making a left turn onto eastbound 4th Street.
 
Inside the Nissan were the 31-year-old woman and her twin 6-year-old sons. The woman died at the scene. The boys were taken to a hospital; one was in critical condition and the other in stable condition as of Friday afternoon.
 
After the crash, the driver fled the scene on foot. Officers found him a short time later at a nearby liquor store.
 
Police later identified the suspect as 20-year-old Ralph E. White III of Vallejo. They booked him into the Martinez Detention Facility on murder and other charges.
 
White was being held in lieu of $1,320,000 bail.
