Mitchell Katz Dies in 2-Car Crash at East Avenue and Mitra Street

 
LIVERMORE, CA (July 25, 2023) — Mitchell Katz died in a two-car accident at East Avenue and Mitra Street.
 
According to the Alameda County Coroner’s Office, 59-year-old Katz died in Friday’s crash that happened around 3:20 p.m. For an unknown reason, Katz’s white GMC SUV changed lanes but struck a black Subaru on East Avenue and Mitra Street.
 
Katz, the owner of Mitchell Katz Winery on Vasco Road, suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he passed away. By Sunday night, the Alameda County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity. No one else reported any injuries in the accident.
