Multiple Vehicles Collide on Highway 41 in Fresno County Killing One and Injuring Six Others

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 25, 2023) – A woman died and six other people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 41 in Fresno County Monday afternoon on July 24.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:45 p.m. at Elkhorn Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford F-450 pulling a trailer was traveling southbound on the highway when it crashed into stopped traffic at the intersection.
 
Preliminary investigations indicate the driver of the commercial truck was distracted, stopping him from reacting to the traffic that was stopped on the road ahead. He rear-ended a Toyota, which then struck a Chevrolet in front of it. The impact caused the Chevrolet to strike a big rig trailer.
 
The Toyota had three occupants and the driver sustained minor injuries. Its female passenger was killed upon impact. The infant in the back seat was flown to a local hospital in an unknown condition.

Four other people received significant injuries.

At this time, an investigation is ongoing.
