NEWCASTLE, CA (March 26, 2024) — At least one person suffered minor injuries in a 2-car accident on the 80 Freeway near Gilardi Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision happened Monday morning. For an unknown reason, two cars collided on the 80 East Freeway. Subsequently, a big rig ran over some debris and ruptured its fuel tank.
 
Shortly after, officers and paramedics responded to tend to at least one person with minor injuries. Authorities did not indicate the cause of the accident. However, we will update this report once we receive additional information.
