Manuel Huerta, Jasper Cardoza Detained in Police Chase Crash on 9th Avenue near Idaho Avenue

 
HANFORD, CA (May 26, 2021) — Manuel Huerta and Jasper Cardoza were arrested in a police chase accident on 9th Avenue near Idaho Avenue Monday afternoon.
 
According to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit began around 5:47 p.m. when officers found a stolen silver 2008 Ford Escape near Medford Avenue. However, CHP lost sight of the vehicle and a deputy nearby took over the chase.
 
Just after the pursuit lasted for several miles and reach speeds of 130 miles per hour, the stolen Ford crashed into a canal bank. Subsequently, Huerta and Cardoza ran from the vehicle toward a nearby home.
 
However, police grew successful in arresting 18-year-old Jasper. Not long after, officers arrested 18-year-old Huerta with the help of a K-9 after finding him in a shed.
 
Following the incident, officers booked both men into Kings County Jail on suspicion of evading police.
