2 Pedestrians Die after Struck by Vehicle on Highway 101 in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (December 13, 2022) – A man and a woman were killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in San Jose early Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 4:00 a.m. on December 11, near 880 Freeway. According to the San Jose Police Department, the two were crossing the southbound lanes of the highway from the center median to the right shoulder.
 
While in the southbound lane, a 2021 Toyota struck them. Both victims suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The names of the victims were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
At the time of the crash, rain was falling. The driver of the Toyota was not cited pending the current investigation.
 
It is unknown if the weather conditions played a role in the crash. The CHP urged witnesses to contact the San Jose Area CHP Office at 408-961-0900.
