Car Crashes into Wall in Menifee Killing 16-Year-Old Girl and Injuring 4 Others

 
MENIFEE, CA (December 13, 2022) – Clarissa Lewis was killed in a car accident in Menifee Sunday night on December 11.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:10 p.m. on Old Newport Road, just east of Bristol Gate Lane. According to the Menifee Police Department, Lewis was one of four passengers in the car, which had crashed into a retaining wall. The driver apparently lost control while traveling eastbound on the two-lane street at an undetermined speed.
 
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location minutes later and pronounced Lewis dead at the scene. She was 16 years old.
 
Two students in the same car suffered serious injuries, one had a moderate injury and a fourth patient had a minor injury.
 
The Perris Union High School District said all five students are from Liberty High and that the crash happened just outside the Tierra Shores area of the city.
 
Details on the circumstances of the crash were not immediately available. An investigation is underway.
