66-Year-Old Man Dies after Hit-and-Run on Tozer Street near Avenue 15 in Madera

 
MADERA, CA (September 8, 2023) – A 66-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Tozer Street, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 4, at about 8:40 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle hit the victim in the area of Tozer Street and Avenue 15.
 
An off-duty sheriff’s deputy reportedly spotted the victim lying in the road. Emergency responders later transported the man to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the vehicle immediately fled the area.
