Montae Cook, Asia Allen-Bookman Dead after High-Speed Crash with Fire Truck in Compton

 
COMPTON, CA (September 8, 2023) – Authorities identified 27-year-old Montae Cook and 25-year-old Asia Allen-Bookman as the victims killed in a crash involving a fire truck on Compton Boulevard, early Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 5, at about 12:30 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a blue PT cruiser collided with an LA County fire truck near Avalon Boulevard.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the driver, Cook, and the passenger, Allen-Bookman, dead at the scene.
 
A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Allen-Bookman’s family with funeral expenses and to help provide care for her 3-year-old daughter.
 
As per reports, four firefighters needed hospitalization for non-critical injuries.
 
A third vehicle was reportedly involved in the incident. However, the driver immediately left the area.
