Pedestrian Suffers Severe Injuries after Hit by Pickup Truck near Blaine Street in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 25, 2022) – A man was severely injured in a pedestrian accident near Blaine Street and Iowa Avenue on Thursday evening, April 21.
 
The accident happened around 8:20 p.m. roughly three blocks from the UC Riverside Campus. According to the Riverside Police Department, the male pedestrian crossed in front of a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck that was approaching from the north, heading south. The pickup then struck the man, causing him severe injuries.
 
Paramedics rushed the man to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Friday.
 
The pickup driver, a 20-year-old Moreno Valley resident, was unharmed and immediately stopped after the crash.
 
No one was arrested at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
