Man Suffers Serious Injuries after Crash with Another Car on Highway 67 in Lakeside

 
LAKESIDE, CA (March 31, 2023) – A man suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle accident on Highway 67 in Lakeside late Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 5:40 p.m. just south of Foster Truck Trail. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 30-year-old San Diego man was driving a 1996 Toyota Tacoma. At the same time, a 25-year-old Ramona woman was driving a 2019 Honda Civic.
 
The Civic was traveling at an unsafe speed, about 65 to 70 mph, during wet roadway conditions when it lost control. It then veered into the southbound lane into the path of the Tacoma.
 
The front of the Tacoma crashed into the right side of the Civic.
 
As a result of the crash, the man driving the Toyota suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The Honda driver only had minor injuries.
 
Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
