Pedestrian Suffers Major Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Juniper Street in South Park

 
SOUTH PARK, CA (July 12, 2023) – A 47-year-old man was seriously injured in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Juniper Street in South Park early Friday morning on July 7.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was searching through trash cans and collecting cans around 2:00 a.m. in the 2900 block of Juniper Street when an eastbound vehicle struck him.
 
After striking the man, the vehicle fled the scene. Witnesses of the crash described the vehicle involved as a gold Toyota Corolla.
 
A woman who was with the victim told police she was clipped by the car but not hurt.
 
Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
SDPD Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
