Pedestrian Sustains Injuries after Hit by Car on Genesse Avenue in University City

 
UNIVERSITY CITY, CA (December 26, 2022) – A 44-year-old man was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Genesse Avenue in University City Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened just after 7:30 a.m. on December 22, near Campus Point Drive. According to the San Diego Police Department, the pedestrian was legally crossing the eastbound crosswalk on Genesse Avenue when a 34-year-old woman driving a Toyota Prius made a right turn from northbound Campus Point Drive.
 
Police said the driver failed to yield and struck the pedestrian.
 
Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The driver stopped and cooperated with officers, police said. Alcohol was not determined to be a factor in the crash.
