Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 111 in Indio Leaves Pedestrian in Serious Condition

 
INDIO, CA (June 6, 2022) – A man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 111 in Indio on Tuesday evening, May 31.
 
The crash happened around 9:20 p.m. just between Monroe Street and Las Palmas Road. According to the Indio Police Department, a vehicle had hit a pedestrian on the highway. After hitting the victim, the driver did not stop to render aid.
 
Responding paramedics found the pedestrian in the roadway with serious injuries. They took the victim to a hospital for proper treatment.
 
Authorities only described the victim as an adult male. He is expected to survive.
 
Witnesses told officers that the involved vehicle appeared to be either black or silver.
