BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 12, 2021) – A man suffered serious injuries in a car accident on Highway 58 on July 8.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Chester Avenue around 5:50 PM.
 
Based on reports, the victim was driving his white Nissan on Highway 58 prior to the crash. Subsequently, a possibly distracted semi-truck driver traveling westbound on Chester rear-ended his vehicle. Another semi-truck was also involved in the crash. Then, the impact pinned the car underneath one of the trucks.
 
Emergency crews needed a crane to lift the trailer and pull the car driver out from underneath. As a result, the victim suffered severe injuries. Immediately, paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital.
