Rollover Accident on Highway 129 in Watsonville Kills Driver and Badly Injures Passenger

 
WATSONVILLE, CA (December 10, 2021) – A man died and a woman suffered serious injuries in a rollover accident on Highway 129 in Watsonville, late Tuesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 11:50 p.m. on December 7 near the Salsipuedes Creek Bridge, just east of the city limit. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1999 Lexus was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when it went off the roadway. It then overturned several times, ejecting both the driver and the passenger.
 
First responders found the woman walking away from the crash site. They also located the man trapped underneath the vehicle and pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Authorities only identified the deceased as a 33-year-old Watsonville man. He was the one driving the car.
 
The 44-year-old woman was a front-seat passenger. Paramedics took her to a Salinas hospital with major injuries.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still working on the accident.
