47-Year-Old Man Dies after Motorcycle Accident on Highway 101 near Highway 87 in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (January 31, 2022) – A 47-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101, early Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on January 28 at about 1:13 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a 2008 Harley Davidson lost control and slammed into the center median.
 
The impact of the collision ejected the rider and his 40-year-old passenger from the motorcycle near Highway 87.
 
Emergency personnel later pronounced the rider dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, crews transported the female passenger to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries.
 
Responders temporarily closed all lanes of southbound Highway 101 to make way for clearing operations. As per reports, all lanes were reopened at about 4:30 a.m.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
