Driver Dies after Crashing His Vehicle into Occupied Parked Semi on Spring Creek Loop

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 14, 2022) – A man was killed in a traffic accident on Spring Creek Loop in southwest Bakersfield Monday night on December 12.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the victim was driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed when he drifted toward the right curb. He then struck an occupied parked semi truck in the 6900 block of Spring Creek Loop around 6:13 p.m.
 
Responding officers found the man in the driver’s seat of his vehicle suffering from major injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the condition of the person inside the semi was not immediately known.
 
Police said speed appears to be a factor in the crash. They are still waiting for toxicology results to determine if drugs or alcohol also played a role.
 
The investigation is ongoing. Police urged anyone with further information to call them at 327-7111.
