Man Killed in Three-Vehicle Accident on Highway 43 near Grangeville Boulevard [Hanford, CA]

Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 43 in Hanford Leaves Kills 25-Year-Old Fresno Man

 
HANFORD, CA (May 8, 2023) – A man was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 43 in Hanford Friday afternoon on May 5.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly before 1:00 p.m., just north of Grangeville Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 25-year-old victim from Fresno was driving a 2014 Nissan northbound on the highway at an unknown speed. At the same time, a Corcoran man was driving a 2012 Peterbilt southbound on the highway at about 50 miles per hour.
 
Meanwhile, a Laton man was driving a 2013 Chevrolet southbound behind the 2012 Peterbilt.
 
As the Nissan and Peterbilt converged, the Fresno man allowed his car to veer to the right onto the dirt shoulder. He then corrected the vehicle to the left.
 
The Nissan crossed from the northbound lane and into the southbound lane causing it to sideswipe the Peterbilt. It then continued northbound within the southbound lane and turned in a clockwise motion directly into the path of the Chevrolet.
 
As a result of the crash, the Fresno man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
