Driver Dies in Stanislaus County Rollover Crash on Stuhr Road

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (March 15, 2021) — A man was killed in a rollover accident on Stuhr Road near Jorgensen Road last Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened around 11:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a Stockton man, driving westbound in a 2011 Ford Fusion, veered off the road. Subsequently, the Ford drove over gravel road and struck an embankment at an unknown speed. Upon impact, the Ford overturned and ejected the 20-year-old from the car. According to investigations, the victim landed in the eastbound lane, where a 2015 Hyundai Elantra struck him.
 
Following the crash, the driver pulled over and waited for authorities and paramedics to arrive. However, paramedics pronounced the driver dead shortly after.
 
The 50-year-old driver from Newman was not hurt in the accident, per CHP.
 
At this time, CHP officers do not believe impairment became a source of the crash. However, if any witnesses can help authorities with the investigation, please contact their offices.
