Twentynine Palms Rollover Crash on Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms Kills 1 and Hurts 2

 
TWENTYNINE PALMS (September 1, 2022) – A man was killed in a rollover accident on Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms on Wednesday morning, August 31.
 
The accident happened around 5:10 a.m. just east of Ironage Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 30-year-old Chula Vista woman was driving a Fiat westbound on the highway.
 
Due to a possible fatigue, the woman steered to the right, went off the roadway and into the open desert, where the car rolled over multiple times.
 
As a result of the crash, the 31-year-old man from Mexico was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a passenger in the Fiat who was not wearing a seatbelt. During the crash, he was ejected from the car.
 
The woman and a 4-year-old passenger were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with minor injuries.
 
The CHP confirmed that alcohol and/or drugs did not appear to be a contributing factor. Further investigation is underway.
