Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Cars on Southwest Expressway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (September 1, 2022) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Southwest Expressway in San Jose on Tuesday morning, August 30.
 
Around 5:50 a.m., the female pedestrian was walking along the on-ramp of Southwest Expressway from the northbound 280 Freeway when oncoming cars struck her.
 
According to the CHP, the driver of a red Ford pickup truck swerved into the left lane to avoid hitting the victim. The driver of a Nissan Altima behind the pickup could not stop in time and struck her.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
