Man Dies in National City Pedestrian Accident on 805 Freeway

 
NATIONAL CITY, CA (August 30, 2021) — A man died in a pedestrian crash on the 805 Freeway near Highway 54.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 11:10 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck a man, described as a homeless person, in the right lane at the on-ramp to Highway 54 from the 805 Freeway.
 
Shortly after, a person contacted dispatchers, later drawing CHP officers to the scene to investigate. Due to the nature of the accident, the man died in the incident.
