Oil Tanker Truck Involved in Four-Vehicle Accident on 605 Freeway in El Monte

 
EL MONTE, CA (August 30, 2021) – At least one person was extricated after a four-vehicle accident on 605 Freeway, late Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 26, at about 11:30 a.m. Due to unknown circumstances, an oil tanker and three other vehicles collided just south of Valley Boulevard.
 
Emergency crews had to extricate one person trapped in the wreckage. It is unclear whether the person sustained injuries.
 
CHP later issued a SigAlert that lasted at least an hour. As per reports, responders temporarily blocked all lanes except for the carpool lane.
 
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
