BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 2, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Taft Highway in Bakersfield Tuesday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:48 p.m. on August 31. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers found the man down in the 5400 block of Taft Highway and was suffering from significant injuries.
 
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
 
The driver who struck the pedestrian remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor. Police asked anyone with information regarding the accident to call them at 661-327-7111.
