Pedestrian William Romero Dies after Hit by Vehicle in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 17, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Taft Highway in Bakersfield Tuesday evening, August 31.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the man hit and killed as 25-year-old William Alejandro Romero of Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers found Romero down around 8:48 p.m. in the 5400 block of Taft Highway. Soon after, they discovered he was suffering from significant, major injuries.
However, BPD personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
The female driver who struck the pedestrian remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor. Police asked anyone with information regarding the accident to call them at 661-327-7111.
