Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle While Walking on Santa Monica Freeway in Mid-City

 
MID-CITY, CA (October 17, 2021) – A 45-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Santa Monica (10) Freeway early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:24 a.m. on October 17, along the westbound freeway at La Brea Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
After the crash, the involved driver, a 20-year-old woman, called the CHP to report the accident.
 
Officers arrived soon after and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
The CHP’s Central Los Angeles area office urged anyone with information regarding the fatality to call them at 213-744-2331.
