Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Car on New Stine Road near West High School

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 11, 2023) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident at New Stine Road and Belle Terrace Road in southwest Bakersfield on Tuesday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on May 9, just near West High School. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the man was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk when a car struck him.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Speed, alcohol, or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
