Pedestrian Dies in Morning Crash on L Street in Chula Vista

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (February 15, 2024) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on L Street in Chula Vista Wednesday morning on February 14.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:30 a.m. just west of Broadway. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the male pedestrian was walking in the 600 block of L Street when a pickup truck struck him.
 
After the crash, the pedestrian was trapped under the pickup. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 34 years old of Chula Vista.
 
The driver of the pickup, a 32-year-old Chula Vista man, stayed and cooperated with police.
 
Police do not believe intoxication as a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
