60-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car near Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley

 
SPRING VALLEY, CA (September 15, 2021) – A man died in a pedestrian accident near Jamacha Boulevard and Gillespie Drive in Spring Valley Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 9:42 p.m. on September 13, just east of Highway 125 and north of the Spring Valley Swap Meet Site. According to California Highway Patrol, the 60-year-old man was walking or running on the sidewalk on Jamacha Boulevard. For unknown reasons, he left the sidewalk and ran directly in front of a Mercedes C350 that was traveling westbound.
 
The Mercedes then struck the man, causing the victim major injuries. First responders tried saving the pedestrian, but he died at the scene.
 
The involved driver, a 77-year-old man, stayed at the scene and was uninjured.
 
Authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the deadly crash. Further investigation is underway.
