Car Accident on Highway 128 in Healdsburg Kills Driver and Injures Two Passengers
HEALDSBURG, CA (September 15, 2021) – One person died and two others had sustained injuries in a car accident on Highway 128 east of Healdsburg Monday afternoon.
The accident happened shortly before 2:00 p.m. on September 13, just west of La Franchi Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Jeep was traveling on the highway when it lost control for unknown reasons. It then crossed into the opposing westbound lane and struck a tree.
One of the two male passengers was able to free himself from the wreckage, but the driver and the other passenger were trapped inside the car.
The male driver did not survive and died at the scene. The Sonoma County Coroner’s Office will release his identity once his family members are properly notified.
Paramedics transported the two passengers to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, one with major injuries and the other with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Santa Rosa CHP Office asked witnesses to call them at 707-588-1400.
