32-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car on Highway 99 in Madera

 
MADERA, CA (January 29, 2023) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 in Madera late Wednesday evening on January 25.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:00 p.m. at Avenue 20 1/2. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man got out of his car and started walking in traffic.
 
A 31-year-old woman from Chowchilla was driving a Ford and did not have time to avoid the man. The Ford struck the man at the intersection.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 32 years old from Merced. His name was withheld at this time.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
