SUV Fatally Strikes Pedestrian Walking on Highway 94 in Sherman Heights

 
SHERMAN HEIGHTS, CA (August 8, 2023) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 94 in Sherman Heights Thursday evening on August 3.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:20 p.m. near 22nd Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking in lanes of highway traffic when he was struck by an oncoming Cadillac SUV.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and died before he could be taken to a hospital. Authorities withheld his identity pending notification of his family members.
 
The 50-year-old man driving the Cadillac remained on scene and cooperated with authorities. He was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing. A toxicology report is pending through the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office for the pedestrian.
