19-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Jeep on Highway 190 in Porterville

 
PORTERVILLE, CA (August 14, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 190 in Porterville late Monday, August 8.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:40 p.m. at Martin Street. According to the Porterville Police Department, the male pedestrian was walking on the roadway when a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling west on the highway struck him.
 
When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from serious injuries. Paramedics attempted saving him, but he died at the scene.
 
Authorities only identified the victim as a 19-year-old Porterville resident.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
Police said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash. They asked anyone with further information to call Corporal M. Aguillon at 559-782-7400.
