Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Uber Passenger Vehicle on Highway 101 in Goleta

 
GOLETA, CA (November 13, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in Goleta early Friday morning on November 11.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:49 a.m. about a quarter mile south of Fairview Avenue. According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, an Uber passenger vehicle hit the male pedestrian in the northbound lanes of the highway.
 
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the fatality.
