Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Hageman Road in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 22, 2023) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Hageman Road near Mohawk Street.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 12:15 a.m. Friday.
 
For an unknown reason, a male driver struck a man walking outside of a marked crosswalk. The driver of the westbound vehicle immediately pulled over and waited for the authorities.
 
Moments later, Kern County Fire and Hall ambulance responded to the scene and found the victim with major injuries. Despite life-saving measures to help the victim, paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
As for the driver, he cooperated with police investigators who determined that neither speed, drugs nor alcohol played a factor in the accident.
 
Reports did not state the victim’s name or the ultimate cause of the crash, but an ongoing investigation should reveal more details.
