20-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Truck on Central Avenue in Malaga

 
MALAGA, CA (June 15, 2023) – A 20-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident at Central Avenue and Chestnut Avenue in the the Malaga area of Fresno County early Tuesday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 3:00 a.m. on June 13. According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim and his 17-year-old friend were running across the road. A Toyota pickup truck heading north on Chestnut Avenue struck the victim, despite the driver swerving to try to avoid him.
 
The victim was trapped under the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The 17-year-old ran to a nearby convenience store and used a phone to call 911.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved. Further investigation is underway.
