Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Sedan on Highway 118 in Camarillo

 
CAMARILLO, CA (June 15, 2023)David K. Kahlberg was killed in a motorcycle accident in Camarillo Tuesday morning on June 13.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:50 a.m. on Highway 118 west of Walnut Avenue. The area is east of Mesa School Road amid agricultural fields north of Camarillo. According to the California Highway Patrol, Kahlberg was riding a 2005 Yamaha FJR 1300 westbound on the highway.
 
A 43-year-old Fillmore man was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry westbound, ahead of the motorcycle.
 
As the sedan driver slowed down to make a left turn into a private driveway, Kahlberg tried to pass the car using the eastbound lane.
 
The motorcycle struck the left side of the car. Kahlberg was thrown from the bike and died at the scene. He was a 54-year-old Camarillo resident.
 
At this time, this fatality is still under investigation. The CHP’s Ventura-area office urged witnesses to call them at 805-662-2640.
