Pedestrian Dies after Struck by SUV while Walking in Lanes of 8 Freeway in Mission Valley

 
MISSION VALLEY, CA (September 12, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 8 Freeway in Mission Valley on Friday evening, September 9.
 
The accident happened just after 8:00 p.m. near Mission Center Road. According to the CHP, the male pedestrian was walking eastbound on the freeway when a Nissan SUV struck him.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the SUV, a 25-year-old San Diego woman, stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
A toxicology report through the San Diego County Medical Examiners Office is pending to determine if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the deadly crash.
